Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy explains how PuzzleTogether (“the service”) collects, uses, and protects information related to you. By using the service, you acknowledge this policy. We aim to collect only what we need to run a jigsaw puzzle website.
Information we collect
Account data: if you register or sign in, we may store your email, display name, username, avatar URL, a password hash (for email/password accounts), or identifiers from third-party sign-in (such as Google or GitHub).
Gameplay and progress: rooms you create or join, piece connections, scores, badges and cosmetics, leaderboard stats, and room state needed to resume a puzzle.
Technical logs: IP address, browser type, approximate access times, and error logs may be recorded for reliability and security.
How we use information
To provide core features: sign-in, rooms, multiplayer play, saved progress, leaderboards, and badges.
To protect the service: detect abuse, cheating, harassment, or unusual traffic, and limit access when needed.
To improve reliability: understand outages and fix bugs. We do not sell your personal data.
Sign-in and third parties
You may sign in with email verification / password, or via providers such as Google or GitHub. Those providers process your data under their own policies; we only receive what is needed to create or link your account.
Verification or password-reset emails may be delivered through an email provider. Catalog and puzzle images may be hosted on object storage or a CDN so they load quickly.
Custom and uploaded images
Images kept only in your browser (IndexedDB) stay on that device and are not uploaded to our servers by default.
If you use an upload feature, the file is stored on our servers or storage service, usually for your own private rooms, and is not published in the public catalog by default. Do not upload images that invade privacy, infringe rights, or break the law.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies or similar storage for sign-in sessions and preferences such as language. Clearing them in your browser may require signing in again.
Retention and deletion
Account and gameplay data are kept while you use the service, or for a reasonable period for leaderboards and abuse prevention. After a room ends, related state may remain for a while so you can revisit it.
To request deletion of an account or related data, use in-product account options where available, or contact us through channels listed in the footer or About page. We will handle verified requests within a reasonable time, unless the law requires otherwise.
Children
The service is intended for a general audience. If you are under the minimum age required by local law for digital services, use the site with a parent or guardian and avoid submitting unnecessary personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy and change the “Last updated” date on this page. For material changes, we will try to provide a reasonable notice on the site.
For privacy questions, use the contact channels published in the footer or About page. If no public email is listed, follow the in-site instructions.
